Profile

Having sold his first drawings at 11 years old, his talent was being recognized at a young age. By the age of 12, he was being recruited by collegiate level Art Institutes. Bruce spent his collegiate years in the Boston area, at Framingham State College. After pursuing his Bachelor of Arts Degree, and leaving as a Dean's List member, he continued his studies at the Colorado Institute of Art.

Currently living and working in Pennsylvania, he has exhibited and sold work throughout the United States. Best known for his object paintings, he creates each canvas with a life full of light and color. His work has been described as Post Realist, pure, and direct. His unique approach is based in realism and combined with a sense of abstraction, through enhanced colors and a cooperative existence of both positive and negative spaces. The simple compositions and rich colors represent the physical world, as much as a celebration of a new world existing only on canvas. The viewer approaches each painting to find an object perhaps never before thought of as "an object of art," and now, it takes on a new sense of being. This almost theatrical representation given to each of these objects has been admired and sought after by both individuals and corporate collectors.

Artist's Approach

"I paint, primarily, using traditional techniques. Light, color, composition and space are my main concern, much more so than content. It's not what you paint, it's how you paint it. Everything around us, including ourselves, has it own purpose, it's own importance. And yet none is more important than the other. It's all connected. See the magnificence in everything. See again with the eyes of a child. See with your heart."

Commercial Arts

In the commercial arts field Bruce has held virtually every position in the advertising and marketing industry. Several of his campaigns have been award winning. His involvement in this field includes many facets of campaign development: creative direction, writing, final production and implementation. Currently Bruce is the Creative Director and President of Market Place One, a full service design and advertising firm.
